About Camp Rotary
The Rotary organization is a strong supporter of the Boy Scout Program and sponsored/funded many camps in the
early years of Scouting. In the Puget Sound area, the Rotary organization supported at least two camps. First is Camp Rotary from
the Seattle Council used during the 1920’s. This camp was a 13 acre plot on Mercer Island (WA), primarily used for weekend and district camping.
The second was the Tacoma Area Council Rotary Lodge at Camp Kilworth. Camp Kilworth was located on Dash Point, near Federal Way, WA.
and was used from the 1930’s until the camp was sold in the 2010’s.
It is likely there were other Rotary sponsored camps in the early era of Puget Sound Scouting.
